Add a Page

Create an MDX page, place it in navigation, and verify its route and metadata.

1. Choose the collection

Put product guidance under content/docs/documentation and public API contracts under content/docs/api-reference. The file path becomes the URL.

2. Create the MDX file

content/docs/documentation/guides/authentication.mdx
---
title: Authentication
description: Authenticate requests with an API access token.
icon: KeyRound
---

## Send a token

```ts
const response = await fetch("https://api.example.com/v1/projects", {
  headers: { Authorization: `Bearer ${process.env.ACME_TOKEN}` },
});
```

> Warning: Never expose a server token in browser code.

3. Add it to the sidebar

content/docs/documentation/guides/meta.json
{
  "title": "Guides",
  "pages": ["authentication", "..."]
}
Read [Authentication](/documentation/guides/authentication).

5. Verify

Run pnpm dev, open /documentation/guides/authentication, and check the sidebar, breadcrumb, table of contents, search, browser title, and previous/next links. Finish with:

pnpm lint
pnpm build

Tip: Use lowercase kebab-case file names. Stable, descriptive URLs are easier to share and rarely need redirects.
